Patrick Magee was a member of the IRA. In 1985 he was sent to prison for planting a bomb in the Grand Hotel in Brighton which exploded during the Conservative party conference. Over 30 people were injured in the blast and Sir Anthony Berry MP was one of five people who were killed. Patrick Magee spent 14 years in prison and shortly after he was released, he met Jo Berry who is the daughter of Sir Anthony.
